Complexity

Dynacrypt® gives its users the option to change the Complexity used for file encryption. To change the Complexity do the following:

1.   Select Complexity from the Setup Menu. A Complexity Dialog Box will appear as shown below:

2.   Input the new Complexity number in the Complexity field in the Complexity Dialog Box. Input a number between 6 and 1000. The default is 100.

3.   Select the OK button when finished to accept the Complexity change.

The Complexity changes the complexity of the encryption algorithm. It makes cryptanalysis, the process used to break an encryption scheme, more difficult. A higher number increases the complexity exponentially and increases the time to encrypt and decrypt files.

Although the complexity of the algorithm is increased exponentially with an increase in the Complexity, the time to encrypt and decrypt files is only mildly affected with an increase in the Complexity. For example, there is hardly any difference in encryption speed with a Complexity of 50 versus a Complexity of 100. However, the difference in complexity of the algorithm is tremendous. The method is practically impervious to brute force attack.
