Dynacrypt® allows the user to bypass the minimum program default settings to optimize the decryption process for speed. The amount of security sacrificed is negligible. In some instances, there will be a measurable drop in the security performance metrics. This drop could be as much as 2% depending on the parameters selected in the Setup menu. A drop of 2% is still better than all other software decryption programs that are commercially available.

Using Speed Encryption and Decryption, files can be decrypted at the rate of 19.2 megabits per second or 69.2 gigabits per hour on a Pentium III 500 Mhz processor. This is almost twice the speed of a 10 Base T Ethernet connection.

A single file or a number of files can be selected for decryption. To Speed Decrypt a file do the following:

1.   Select Speed Decrypt from the File Menu to decrypt selected files. A Speed Decrypt File Browser window will appear that will allow you to browse your system for files.

2.   Select one or more files for decryption. To select multiple files, simply click the left mouse button and drag the mouse to highlight several files at a time.

3.   When finished selecting a file, click the Open button in the file browser. A File Decryption Progress Bar will appear indicating the progress made toward completion of the process.

Only a limited number of files can be selected at a time. The number that can be selected at a time is a function of the number of characters in the file names. The total number of characters that can be selected at a time is 1024. Hence, if each file name is eight (8) characters long, then 1024/8 = 128 files can be selected at a time for decryption.

Files can also be selected by choosing the appropriate filter in the File Browser. The following file filters are currently available for speed decryption:
