File Decryption

A single file or a number of files can be selected at a time for decryption. Simply select Decrypt Files from the File menu or click the Icon DynaTools Bar to decrypt one or more files. An Explorer-style file browser window will appear that will allow you to browse your system for files as shown below:

Select a file for decryption. When finished selecting a file, click the Open button in the Decrypt File Browser. A File Decryption Progress Bar will appear indicating the progress made toward completion of the process.

To encrypt multiple files at a time, simply click the left mouse button and drag the mouse to highlight several files at a time. Click the Open button and a File Decryption Progress Bar will appear indicating the progress made toward completion of the process. Only a limited number of files can be selected at a time. The number that can be selected at a time is a function of the number of characters in the file names. The total number of characters that can be selected at a time is 1024. Hence, if each file name is eight (8) characters long, then 1024/8 = 128 files can be selected at a time for decryption. If more files are needed for decryption use the Directory Decryption feature.

Files can also be selected by choosing the appropriate filter in the File Browser. The following file filters are currently available:

  • Text files (*.txt)
  • Rich Text files (*.rtf)
  • Data files (*.dat)
  • Word files (*.doc, *.docx)
  • Icon files (*.ico)
  • Bitmap files (*.bmp)
  • Corel Draw files (*.cdr)
  • Excel files (*.xls)
  • Power Point files (*.ppt, *.pptx)
  • Adobe Acrobat files (*.pdf)
  • Executable files (*.exe)
  • All files (*.*)
